Mortenson has been providing real estate development services to our customers since 1975. Our services include project feasibility analysis, site selection and acquisition, planning, financing, ownership and implementation. We have built our development expertise through an active involvement in a broad range of real estate endeavors involving major mixed-use retail projects, administrative and technical facilities, telecommunication and manufacturing facilities, educational campuses, corporate headquarters, medical office buildings, hotels and traditional multi-tenant office buildings.
Tom Lander
Vice President, General Manager
Tom provides overall direction and management of all facets of Mortenson Development Inc.’s commercial real estate business including strategy, financing, partner development, acquisitions and marketing.
He is a member of NAIOP and heavily involved with the CornerHouse child abuse support center, the United Way, and Breath of Life.
The many projects Tom has been involved with include the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Coralville, IA; the Cherry Creek North Redevelopment - Phase III - JW Marriott Hotel in Denver; and the Lehigh Valley College in Center Valley, PA.
Bob Solfelt
Director of Real Estate Development
As Director of Real Estate Development based in Minneapolis, Bob leads a focused effort to build the Mortenson Development presence in the Midwest. He has a depth of market knowledge and industry expertise, including entitlements, leasing, and financing, and works seamlessly with Mortenson Construction to provide services related to design, construction and building turnover.
Bob was previously co-owner of his own development company in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. He is a member of NAIOP, has served on numerous boards and organizations. Bob is currently a trustee and vice chairman on the Crown College Board, and serves on the Aquajets Swim Team Board.
Nate Gundrum
Senior Development Manager
Nate is responsible for multiple facets of Mortenson's real estate development operation including feasibility analysis, site selection and acquisition, entitlements, financing, project management and sourcing new development opportunities. With more than ten years of industry experience, Nate specializes in the development of hotels and resorts, office buildings, retail centers and mixed-use projects.
Nate is involved in various organizations including ULI, NAIOP, Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Nate also serves as an Adjunct Professor for several real estate courses at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dan Lessor
Development Manager
Dan is responsible for development management of active projects in the Twin Cities, as well as sourcing new development opportunities in Mortenson’s various markets, including medical office, corporate office, multi-family and mission critical asset classes. He contributes to business development activities as an active member of NAIOP and the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association.
Dan has been the development manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel at Mall of America and the John B. Davis Education and Service Center on West Broadway in Minneapolis.
Ben Geiger
Development Manager
As a Development Manger based in Denver, Ben focuses on the identification of new development opportunities within the Denver markets. He is also responsible for market analysis, account identification, site recommendations, financial feasibility analysis and project management.
