Mortenson Awarded Mercy Medical Center Renovation

Minneapolis, MN - Mortenson's Minneapolis office is pleased to announce their selection to renovate the 48,000 SF Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The $10 million renovation project will create six new operating rooms. Construction is scheduled to begin in September, with completion in April, 2008.

Mercy Medical Center is a 916-bed acute care facility owned by Catholic Health Initiatives. The Center performs approximately 24,000 surgical procedures per year and that number is growing, necessitating a reconfiguration of the surgical space.

The project will be another in a long collaboration between Mortenson and Hammes, Inc. who is the program manager. The architect is Davis Partnership, based in Denver, who is currently completing Schematic Design.
