Mortenson Seattle Awarded New Fairview Research Center

Seattle, WA - Mortenson's Seattle office has been awarded a $16 million Fairview Research Center project in the South Lake Union area of Seattle, one of the most burgeoning neighborhoods in the city. The customer is a joint venture between BioMed Realty and EDG Commercial Real Estate, a partnership that is pursuing additional development opportunities in the area.
The 130,000 SF laboratory/office building project will begin June 2006, with an 11-month construction schedule. The building has been designed to meet the specific criteria of life science organizations while adhering to the principles of sustainable design, allowing for a Silver LEED® certification.
The design of the building is very similar to that of the recently completed UW Research & Technology facility. The team's technical performance, dedication to quality, and relationship building efforts on that project were extremely important to Mortenson’s success in getting this job.
