Mortenson Awarded Spearville Wind Farm Project

Minneapolis, MN - Mortenson’s Renewable Energy Group recently announced their selection for the 100-megawatt Spearville Wind Farm. This marks Mortenson's sixth project with enXco, Inc. This project is located in southwestern Kansas near the small town of Spearville, close to historic Fort Dodge. Not far from Spearville, a visitor can still walk in and along the ruts of the original Santa Fe Trail.
Mortenson’s scope includes building the roads, foundations, collection systems and turbine erection. The project will consist of (67) General Electric 1.5MW wind turbine generators on 80-meter towers. Construction began in April 2006, with completion scheduled for September 2006.
