Mortenson's Chicago Office Selected For New Addison Public Library

July 13, 2006

Chicago, IL - Mortenson's Chicago office has been selected as the construction manager for Phase I of the new 53,000 SF Addison Public Library.  Phase II will add another 23,000 SF, and will be executed once funding is attained.  The $15 million project will be located in the southwest corner of the Village of Addison municipal campus.

Feedback from the Library Selection Committee regarding Mortenson's selected centered on the importance of knowing the project details and spending time attending their Board Meetings periodically for over a year.  This intimate knowledge of the project, gained by attending these meetings, was evident in the interview presentation and helped demonstrate our desire to work with them.

The proposed project team is currently working together on the $7 million Northlake Public Library addition and renovation project. Their knowledge of library construction as well as the high level of service they are currently providing on Northlake was instrumental in this win.

Burnidge Cassell Associates, Inc., one of the top library architects in the Midwest, has been contracted by the library to provide professional architecture, landscape, and interior design services for the project.

Construction is expected to begin in April 2007, with completion targeted for April 2008.
