Mortenson Awarded University of Northern Colorado's West Campus Housing Project

Denver, CO - Mortenson's Denver office is pleased to announce their selection for the University of Northern Colorado’s West Campus Housing project. In December 2005, the University of Northern Colorado began the project’s design-build competition. In February, the construction and design teams of Mortenson, Davis Partnership+Centerbrook and Adolfson & Peterson - Chris Carvell Architects, were short-listed and moved into three months of design, scheduling, costing, phasing and planning.
In June, the Mortenson team claimed victory over the $53.2 million design-build project that includes two buildings, housing a total of 720 students in suite-style rooms.
The project is being designed with LEED® elements and will follow the Silver checklist for LEED certification. A two-phased project is planned, with ground breaking in May 2007 for Phase I and May 2008 for Phase II.
