Mortenson's Renewable Energy Group Awarded MinnDakota Wind Farm

Minneapolis, MN - Mortenson’s Renewable Energy Group recently announced its selection as BOP Contractor for the 150-megawatt MinnDakota Wind Farm located on the Minnesota and South Dakota border. This is Mortenson's sixth project with PPM Energy.

The project scope includes building access roads, turbine foundations and erecting the wind turbine generators as well as building the Operations & Maintenance facility and erecting meteorological towers.

The project includes: 

  • 23 miles of access roads
  • 100 turbine foundations
  • Erecting 100 GE Wind Energy1.5-megawatt wind turbines on 80-meter towers
  • 3 meteorological towers

The MinnDakota wind energy facility has the potential to provide energy to approximately 60,000 homes annually.
