Minneapolis, MN - Mortenson Development, Inc. and Mortenson's Minneapolis office were recently selected to develop and build the new Hilton Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota. Mortenson is partnering with Hilton Hotels, architect Walsh Bishop and the interior design and purchasing team of Design Force and Valiant. This project will put an upscale hotel and restaurant on one of the most prominent commercial and entertainment corridors in the Twin Cities, the 494 strip.

The hotel will be owned by W. P. Carey and managed by Marcus Hotels and Resorts. With a $47 million development and construction budget, the hotel will include 256 rooms, a high-end steak house, and over 7,300 SF of ballroom and meeting space.  The hotel is scheduled to open in January 2008.

This project comes on the heels of several hotel development projects recently completed by Mortenson, including the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Coralville, Iowa and the J. W. Marriott Hotel in Denver, Colorado.
