January 24, 2007

Milwaukee, WI - Mortenson's Milwaukee office recently announced that the joint venture team of Findorff | Mortenson has been selected to build the new $120 million Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID) and Morgridge Institute for Research (MIR) in Madison, Wisconsin.

The twin research facilities, one public and one private, will be constructed in the heart of the UW-Madison campus and will serve as a hub for interdisciplinary research.  The world-class facilities will foster collaboration involving an array of disciplines and will spur new knowledge, new inventions, new treatments and cures for disease, and economic development for the region.  Construction is expected to begin in 2008 and will encompass an entire block of the campus, with the two institutes joined by a central atrium.
