Mortenson's Federal Group Awarded Brigade Complex at Fort Lewis

Minneapolis, MN - Mortenson's Federal Contracting Group was recently awarded a $73.8 million design-build contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District for a Brigade Complex at Fort Lewis, WA. The complex will include a Barracks building that will house 600 soldiers, a Battalion Headquarters building, extensive site development, and miscellaneous support facilities.
Mortenson teamed with BCRA Architects, Totem Electric, Hultz/BHU/Cross, and Hermanson Mechanical through the 2 phase Best Value selection process. Design is already underway, and the project is scheduled for completion in February 2009. The project will be designed to LEED® Silver standards, reflecting the COE and the base's emphasis on sustainable design and construction.
