Mortenson's Phoenix Office Takes to the Court

Phoenix, AZ - Mortenson's Phoenix office recently announced their selection for the new Arizona State University Basketball Practice Facility, which will be located at the ASU Tempe Campus in Tempe, Arizona.
The 37,000 SF Weatherup Center will be comprised of two practice courts, locker rooms, study areas and coaches’ offices. In addition to the new facility, renovations will take place at the Athletes’ Performance Institute, an 18,000 SF training area that is adjacent to the new property.
Another aspect of this project includes relocation of the existing open green space and site lighting (band field), which be will moved to another area on the site. Design and construction will be phased with the band field relocation.
HOK / Gould Evans have been awarded the design portion of the project and construction of the project is anticipated for fall 2007, with completion in April, 2009. The new facility will be constructed to meet the requirements of USGBC LEED® Silver Certification.
