Mortenson Seattle Continues Building Relationship with the University of Washington

Seattle, WA - Mortenson's Seattle office is pleased to announce that the University of Washington has selected Mortenson from a list of seven contractors to build their new data center facility in Seattle's University District. This GC/CM assignment involves the construction of a data center and support space in the University's UW Tower properties.

The University of Washington Tower Data Center is being constructed to accommodate increased campus-wide server demand. This facility will be housed in an existing five story, 1960’s vintage, conventionally reinforced cast-in-place concrete building.

This project will provide 1.8 megawatts of power to the data center for the initial occupancy of the building, all systems and floor area are being designed to facilitate future expansion for up to 3.0 megawatts of service.

Callison and EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Inc. are designing the project and construction will commence in September of 2008.
