Mortenson's Phoenix Office Selected for Chase Field Renovations
October 9, 2007
Phoenix, AZ - Mortenson's Phoenix office recently announced their selection for the Center Field Display Renovations project at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The design-build project teams Mortenson with HKS as building partners with the Maricopa County Stadium District, Chase Field and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The construction budget for the renovations is $11 million, and construction begins as soon as the Diamondbacks 2007 season ends. The anticipated substantial completion date, including acceptance testing and training, is March 14, 2008, in time for the 2008 baseball season.
The project entails:
- Replacement of the existing display, with a main display placed at center field. The overall dimensions of the full color, LED display, will be up to 55 feet high and 144 feet wide, the largest in baseball and the largest in all professional sports
- Replacement also includes the three-sided outdoor marquee sign, measuring 10 feet high and 24 feet wide, with a full color, LED display
- Addition of a graphic capable, full color LED display to replace the existing “The Arizona Republic,” sign, affixed above the current center field display
- Replacement or supplement of the existing video production systems, to support the above project features
The expertise of our team members includes experience with the installation of heavy and highly sensitive equipment and the challenges of an extremely aggressive project schedule. The LED displays will require secure installation and placement to ensure a successful project. With an aggressive schedule and an inflexible project due date, team members must empower themselves to look for better ideas on how to get the job completed on schedule.
