Mortenson's Milwaukee Office Acquires Additional Work with Wisconsin DOT
June 16, 2008
Milwaukee, WI - Building on their strong working relationship with WisDOT on the Marquette Interchange Project Controls contract, Mortenson's Milwaukee office has been selected to provide similar services for the Milwaukee I-94 Zoo Interchange. The Zoo Interchange is one of Wisconsin's oldest interchanges and is currently the busiest interchange in the state. The project is estimated to be a $450+M infrastructure project depending on the approved scope and termini, and will be one of the largest road projects in Wisconsin history.
Governor Doyle is hoping to jump-start the Zoo Interchange to a 2012 vs. 2016 construction start; design work is already underway. The Zoo Interchange is highly known for its critical role in the state's overall transportation economy as it serves as a link among the Milwaukee, Madison and Fox Valley regions.
The high profile nature of the project, along with Milwaukee’s focus on further establishing their presence within the transportation infrastructure market, makes this a key win for the group.
