Mortenson China Wins Work for OmniVision

Shanghai, China - Mortenson China was recently selected to provide agency CM services for a $25-million manufacturing facility for OmniVision Technologies, Inc. 

The Sunnyvale-based OmniVision Technologies is one of the world's largest independent suppliers of advanced, single-chip CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) camera solutions. OmniVision’s technology puts all camera-imaging functions, including smart-automatic white balancing, exposure control, gain control, edge enhancement and color processing, on a single chip, which is used by businesses that produce high-volume imaging products for digital video/photography, security and surveillance, video conferencing, automotive, machine vision and mobile-imaging markets.

The 30,000 square-meter manufacturing facility is located in Songjiang District of Shanghai. When completed, the facility will be utilized for chip testing, inspection, and packaging as well as meeting some of OmniVision R&D and administration functions. The facility includes an 8,000-square-meter class 1000 clean room.

The project began in July 2008 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009.
