Colorado Springs, CO - Mortenson Construction’s Denver Operating Group is pleased to announce that the company has been selected as the design-builder for the Unit Maintenance Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facility (TEMF) at the Fort Carson Army Base on behalf of the Army Corps of Engineers.  The $8.9 million project includes associated site work for the Unit Maintenance and Support Battalion and will be designed and built to LEED Silver standards.

Mortenson’s design-build team includes the Minneapolis office of LEO A DALY, an international architecture, planning, engineering, interior design and program management firm, for architecture, engineering and project management services, PBS&J for civil design services, and RK Mechanical and E-Light for mechanical and electrical services.

Construction of the 18,000 square foot TEMF will begin in September 2009, with a completion date of July 2010.  This facility is the 15th TEMF that Mortenson's Denver office has been selected to build at Ft. Carson.

“We’re very proud to the relationship we’ve established with the Army Corp of Engineers and the trust they have in our ability to meet their needs in a timely and knowledgeable manner,” said Bob Hansen, Vice President of Mortenson.  “Our ongoing work signifies how successful the TEMF’s have proven to be in meeting the demands of Fort Carson.  We’re looking forward to beginning work on these newest facilities.”
