Mortenson Awarded Autodesk BIM Experience Award

Denver, CO - Mortenson was recently honored as the first contractor to receive the Autodesk BIM Experience Award.  In their award announcement, Autodesk noted Mortenson’s early adoption and exemplary use of Building Information Modeling on more than 100 construction projects.

Rick Khan and Derek Cunz led Mortenson’s effort in the award submission, which recognized the achievements from Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum and Seattle’s Tulalip Resort Hotel.  “BIM and Autodesk’s portfolio of BIM software are a mainstay at Mortenson and are used in every aspect of our construction practices,” said Derek Cunz, director of project development.  “In fact, we’re one of only two pure contractors to be included in Building Design & Construction magazine’s Top 50 BIM Adopters ranking from their 2009 Giants 300 Report.” In the BD&C rankings, Mortenson is the #1 adopter of BIM by volume.
