March 4, 2009

Mortenson has begun construction of the new $49 million Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences facility for the University of Colorado Denver at the Anschutz Medical Campus. The 170,000 square foot research and administrative facility is on track to be the first University of Colorado-Denver Anschutz Campus LEED® certified building with an anticipated Silver rating.

The new building will support faculty who provide pharmaceutical education, research and patient care and who prepare students for their roles as pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.

“It’s an honor to be the company building the first LEED® certified building on this highly respected and renown medical campus,” said Bob Hansen, vice president of our Denver office. “We’re very pleased to have been chosen to build this state-of-the-art research center, and are looking forward to providing the University of Colorado Denver with a building that will meet the very specialized needs of lab and research space.”

Mortenson has recently completed two other projects at the Anschutz Medical Campus, Research 2 and the Health Sciences Library, and has more than 270 LEED® Accredited Professional team members and more than $4 billion in sustainable projects.
