May 25, 2009
Denver, CO - Mortenson's Denver office is pleased to announce they have been awarded two Honorable Mention awards in the American Institute of Architect’s Fifth Annual Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Building Information Model (BIM) Awards.
The Research 2 project at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus was an award recipient in the Design/Delivery Process Innovation Using BIM category, while the Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center at Colorado College was recognized in Creating Stellar Architecture Using BIM.
The official announcement and awards presentation was held during the AIA National Convention in San Francisco with David Stone, integrated construction manager, and Derek Cunz, director of project development, accepting the awards on Mortenson's behalf. The AIA recognized the winners at a reception attended by the Public Architects Forum as well as the TAP Knowledge Community.
These two awards bring the Mortenson TAP BIM Award total to four. No other contractor has won more than one award and only one architect has won four. The company has been presented with an award by the AIA every year that we have submitted – clear recognition of our leadership in VDC and advancing the science of construction. Mortenson’s previous winning entries include:
