Mortenson Chosen for Colorado Judicial Center Temporary Facility

February 19, 2010

Denver, CO - Mortenson's Denver office is pleased to announce our selection and start of construction to build the temporary offices and courts for the Colorado Judicial Center. The project includes the renovation of two floors of the existing Denver Newspaper Agency building, which is located at the intersection of 15th Street and West Colfax Avenue in downtown Denver.

The renovated space will house temporary amenities for the Colorado Courts while their new facilities are being built.  The renovations will be complete in mid-April, allowing for the start of demolition of the existing State Justice Center, which will make way for the new Ralph L. Carr Justice Center, scheduled to break ground this summer.

The first floor renovation includes the construction of a temporary courtroom and law library for the State of Colorado Supreme and Appellate Courts. The 43,000 square foot 8th floor renovation will temporarily provide administrative amenities. The temporary offices and courts will be in use by the Colorado Judicial Department until Mortenson completes the new Justice Center.
