Mortenson Joins With Prominent Chicago Construction Companies to Improve Safety

Chicago, IL - Six prominent Chicago construction competitors have put competition aside today, joining forces to develop and implement safe work practices, and affect positive changes in construction safety, to ultimately achieve incident and injury free construction throughout Illinois.
Bovis Lend Lease, Gilbane Building Company, Kenny Construction Company, Mortenson Construction, Power Construction Co., LLC and Turner Construction Company, each committed to the safety of workers and the public, met today to celebrate the creation of Build Safe Chicago, committed to providing a safe workplace and sending all workers home injury free each day.
Build Safe Chicago, recognizing that working together will achieve more than any one company, has combined the best safety practices of all member firms into a common set of safety initiatives regarding personal protective equipment, fall protection, emergency actions plans, etc., promoting safety as a prime differentiator of construction in Illinois. Build Safe Chicago member firms will strive to harmonize and integrate the Build Safe Chicago Safety and Health Standards on their construction projects in Chicago.

Build Safe programs have successfully been launched in New York, Washington, DC, New England and New Jersey.
