Mortenson Continues Relationship with Allina on Central Laboratory Project

Minneapolis, MN — Mortenson Construction is pleased to announce it is working with Allina Hospitals & Clinics on their Central Laboratory project. This landmark project will consolidate the efforts of over 50 laboratories across Allina’s organization into one core lab on the Abbott Northwestern Campus in Minneapolis.

The Allina Central Laboratory will be built on the second floor of the Allina-owned warehouse facility in South Minneapolis. The total anticipated build-out will be approximately 76,000 square feet, and will include new corridors to meet life safety requirements. The lab will serve 11 Allina Hospitals, 49 Allina Medical Clinics, 13 Aspen Clinics, 5 Quello Clinics and several specialty care services. Substantial completion is planned for December 2011, with occupancy scheduled for February 2012.

The project team consists of RSP Architects (architectural and interior design), Meyer Borgman & Johnson (structural engineering), and Dunham Associates (mechanical and electrical engineering).
