Mortenson ' Denver Office Awarded Two New Projects at Fort Carson

Colorado Springs, CO – Mortenson Construction is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded two new construction projects at the Fort Carson Army Base.  The projects include the Echelon Above Brigade Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facility (TEMF) and the Echelon Above Brigade Headquarters.  The two most recent projects brings Mortenson’s work at Fort Carson to 11 projects, valued at over $364 million over the past five years.

“We’ve had a strong relationship with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Carson over the years, and we’re very proud of our ability to not only meet their construction needs, but also surpass their goals in regards to providing highly functional and energy efficient structures,” said Bob Hansen, vice president of Mortenson.  “We’re looking forward to these two new projects, and meeting and surpassing the expectations of the Corps.”

The Echelon Above Brigade TEMF will be an 18,000 square foot, $6.5 million Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facility.  The facility is designed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District. Construction will begin in the fall of 2011 and is scheduled for completion in November 2012.

The Echelon Above Brigade Headquarters will be a 54,000 square foot, $11.6 million headquarters building, also designed by the USACE Omaha District.  The project will begin in September 2011 and completed in the fall of 2012.
