Mortenson Selected for Three Projects with Northern Arizona University

Flagstaff, AZ - Mortenson has been awarded three projects at the Northern Arizona University campus in Flagstaff, AZ. The projects include the Science & Health Building, Multipurpose Events Center and Lab 17 Renovation.
Science & Health Building
The $55 million, 120,000 SF greenfield Science & Health building will add new teaching and research laboratories along with classrooms for chemistry and biology. The site is located in the heart of the existing campus. Preconstruction will begin in June 2011 and the project will be complete by September 2014.
Multipurpose Events Center
This $18.5 million project is a major renovation of the 94,000 SF NAU Fieldhouse into a Multipurpose center for student events. Constructed in 1965, the NAU Fieldhouse existing programmed use will be replaced by the new Health & Learning Center that Mortenson recently completed for the University. The renovation project includes space reconfiguration and interior renovation, structural repairs, and a new west entrance. The interior renovation includes new acoustics, lighting, flooring and seating. Additionally, the project will address ADA, fire life safety and other code upgrades, as well as taps to the existing campus heating/cooling loop. This project is currently in preconstruction and will be complete by January 2013.
Lab 17
This $3.5 million renovation to the Lab 17 building includes HVAC balancing and fire & life safety updates to the 5 year old science laboratory and research facility. This project is currently under construction and will be complete by December 2011.
