University of Minnesota Selects Mortenson for New $50M Residence Hall

Minneapolis, MN - The University of Minnesota recently selected Mortenson to provide construction manager at risk services for the construction of a new 600-bed student residence hall and dining facility on its Twin Cities Campus.

The residence hall will be up to six stories, predominantly brick/masonry construction, with design reflective of University of Minnesota campus character and architecture of adjacent historic fraternity houses. The project will use LEED Silver guidelines and Minnesota B3 as a minimum design standard.

Construction begins in April 2012 and will be substantially complete by July 2013. Stanius Johnson Architects/Mackey Mitchell Architects is the design team for the project.
