State of Minnesota Selects Mortenson for New Emergency Operations Center
September 2, 2011
Arden Hills, MN - The State of Minnesota selected Mortenson to provide construction manager at risk services for the construction of a new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to be located at the Arden Hills Army Training Site in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
A new facility will provide Homeland Security and Emergency Management with the required spaces to effectively execute and perform all missions in response to Homeland Security and Emergency Management. It will improve Minnesota's readiness in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and allow for long term continuous operations in a secure facility that meets Anti-Terrorism Force Protection standards.
The new facility may operate as a stand-alone facility or be constructed jointly with the Minnesota Army National Guard. The State is interested in the possibility of sharing resources during construction and operation, helping to reduce the cost of the facility and fully maximizing the building’s potential to meet any size requirement for operations. The design team is Wold Architects and Engineers of St. Paul.
The adjacent Minnesota Army National Guard Arden Hills Army Training Site and Ramsey County Maintenance Facility sites will remain occupied for the duration of the project. The work that occurs must support and accommodate their day-to-day operations. The EOC project is scheduled to be substantially complete no later than January 1, 2014.
