Providence Regional Medical Center Selects Mortenson for Additional Non-Compete Work

Providence Regional Medical Center, Everett, recently selected Mortenson on a non-compete basis for a new project on its Colby campus. The $9.5 million project involves remodeling vacated areas of the existing hospital campus. The remodel includes turning the old emergency department into a cafeteria, chapel, gift shop, and pharmacy, as well as converting the existing Intensive Care Unit to a new Pediatric Unit with approximately 12 beds. Construction began on the C-Wing backfill project on June 15 and is scheduled to be complete in March 2012.

Other ongoing projects on Providence's Colby campus include:

• A 6,000-square-foot service kitchen in the basement of the new tower
• A $800,000 Neurology Clinic in the Providence Regional Cancer Center
• Completion of the remaining New Medical Tower scope including a new campus entry, a 200 foot elevated pedestrian bridge that spans 13th Street from the existing hospital to the Providence Regional Cancer Center, and new transfer elevators connecting the New Tower to the existing campus.
