David Mortenson

After graduating from Colgate University, David spent three years as a ship driver and the Combat Information Center Officer in the United States Navy. He joined the family business in 1991 and currently serves as executive vice president.

David has been driving construction technology advancements and innovative practices, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual Design and Construction (VDC),  and integrated project delivery into the company, helping to make it a leader in the industry. He oversees operating groups in the midwest and Asia which are focused on integrated delivery (including BIM and VDC) of high-tech manufacturing, health care, life science, corporate and higher education projects.

He is a board member of the University of Minnesota College of Design, The Minneapolis Foundation, and is a member of the Itasca Group.

  • Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles
  • Seagate Technology facility in Londonderry, Northern Ireland
  • University of Washington - Bothell/Cascadia Community College Co-Located Campus in Bothell, WA
  • Children's Hospital of Chicago
  • Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center in Tacoma, WA
