Sandy Sponem

Sandy’s responsibilities comprise advancing the company’s finance and accounting organization including project accounting, general accounting,  financial reporting, taxes and treasury, and planning and analysis. She joined Mortenson as chief financial officer in 2007 after 15 years with Piper Jaffray Companies, Inc. During her tenure at Piper Jaffray Companies, Inc. Sandy was recognized as one of the top women in finance by Finance and Commerce magazine.

At Mortenson, Sandy serves on Mortenson's senior leadership team and has primary responsibility for the finance and accounting function, including financial reporting, financial systems, planning and analysis, income taxes, corporate treasury and executive benefits.  In addition, Sandy serves on the company’s Investment, risk management, compliance and development committees.

Sandy is a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Dean's Advisory Board at the University of Wisconsin School of Business, and the Finance Committee of Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
