Allina Health held a ceremonial groundbreaking for their new Hastings Clinic on October 25, 2016. “This is a very exciting day as we take an important step in building this new clinic for our community,” said Tom Thompson, President of Allina Health’s Regina Hospital.

The event marked the start of construction for the two-story, 50,000 square foot clinic located on Highway 55, between Jacob Avenue and General Sieben Drive in Hastings, Minnesota. The new clinic will replace Allina Health’s First Street Clinic and is scheduled to open late 2017.

Thirty-six primary care providers will be relocated, including family practice providers, pediatricians, same day care, occupational health services, eye services, mental health, and occupational health. Additionally, 140 lab and x-ray technicians, clinical assistants, nurses, and other office support staff will also move to the new space. 

The core and shell is being designed by HGA Architects and Engineers with interiors designed by bdh+young. It is being developed and constructed by Mortenson. "We're at our best when we're providing the canvas upon which our customers can fulfill their mission," said Jeremy Jacobs, the project's developer with Mortenson. "Allina will continue to provide the Hastings community with world class healthcare in this building, so we're thrilled to be a project partner enabling that mission." 

The facility was designed with future growth in mind, with plans to add integrative medicine services ranging from acupuncture to exercise consultations and assistance for chronic illnesses and chronic pain through the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing. 

“This project truly represents the commitment of Allina Health to the community of Hastings,” said Mayor Paul Hicks at the event. Also in attendance were Allina Health doctors, nurses, and staff, project team partners, and members of the Hastings community.
