Ben Goetter and his family have made it through one scorching Phoenix summer and are ready for another, but there still is plenty of Wisconsin and cheesehead allegiance for the Milwaukee native.

Goetter, general manager at Mortenson Construction’s Phoenix regional office in Chandler, grew up in Wisconsin and has been with Mortenson since 1998. He transferred to the Phoenix office last summer in the midst of some of the hottest days in the region’s history.

That meant he and his wife moving their three daughters (ages 13, 7 and 4) to the East Valley in the middle of a summer that saw temperatures at or near 120 degrees.

The heat isn’t a bother, and Goetter is bullish on the Phoenix real estate and construction market and the economy. He’s seeing continued growth and development of new hotels as well sports projects.
