Mortenson provided design and construction for a colocation data center located within this confidential customer's leased space in a high-rise office building in downtown Vancouver. The 17,000-square-foot facility provides 6,500 square feet of IT white space, generator and electrical distribution equipment rooms, and office space.
Phase 1 provides 600 kW of available IT load with A+B UPS and 2N generator configuration. The initial IT load is limited by the building service capacity. Installed electrical distribution equipment includes 2-750kw UPS, and 2-1 MW generators, with provisions for planned expansion to 1.5 MW IT capacity in Phase 2 (upon power service upgrade to building by BC Hydro).
The project includes raised access floor, custom DX CRAC units, pre-action fire suppression, VESDA, BMS, DCIM, battery monitoring, access control and CCTV systems.
Mortenson’s scope of work also included IT infrastructure (fiber & copper structured cabling and IT equipment racks).
