University Of Iowa Hancher Auditorium / Iowa CityIA
Connecting artists and audiences with transformational artistic experiences.

The original Hancher Auditorium was destroyed by the devastating floods of 2008. A new facility in a new location opened in 2016 and is continuing its tradition of entertaining the community through arts and education. The 189,000 square foot complex has floor-to-ceiling glass walls below cantilevers, offering campus and Iowa River views. The facility features a 1,800-seat proscenium theater for music, dance, opera, and theatrical performances, as well as space for rehearsals, teaching, offices, and scene, and costume shops.
