Mortenson’s Minneapolis office is building Hennepin County Medical Center’s (HCMC’s) new $224.6 million Specialty Center. The new 377,000 square foot facility will meet the healthcare needs of the growing residential population in downtown Minneapolis as well as patients that use HCMC for specialty surgery services.
HCMC is a comprehensive academic medical center and public hospital with from world-class trauma services, specialty and primary care services. The new Specialty Center will be located adjacent to the existing HCMC campus, which currently occupies five blocks. It will include primary care clinics, specialty clinics and outpatient surgery facilities. The project also includes two levels of underground parking with 260 parking stalls, and a skyway and tunnel connection to the existing hospital.
