Northern Star Council, Boy Scouts of America / Fort SnellingMN
How do you build a facility that focuses on learning and has an immersive experience?
The Peter J. King Family Foundation Leadership Center expands the Northern Star Council Boy Scouts of America’s operations at the existing Base Camp, located in historic Fort Snelling. The new facility offers additional, focused learning through leadership experiences. This includes an enhanced-reality Leadership Lab featuring a “Leadership Chamber Room” offering an immersive experience; the outdoor climbing tower and an expanded team-focused outdoor high ropes and challenge course; welcome space for groups and multiple meeting rooms that can accommodate activities for up to 150 participants; and expanded Scout Shop for Scouting uniforms, program materials, and outdoor supplies. It also houses the Northern Star Council Boy Scouts of America Headquarters, providing office space for the entire council staff at a single site and establishing a true scouting campus.
