A new, consolidated facility now enables Ramsey County Public Works to serve the county’s half million residents better and more efficiently. The Department is responsible for building and maintaining nearly 300 miles of roads and bridges and the environmental health of 30 lakes within the County. The facility replaces three old facilities which were geographically separated and, in the case of the County Highway Garage, functionally obsolete. This new public works facility is a 250,000 gross square foot combined-use facility located on a 40-acre site. Several county functions such as maintenance, vehicle storage, road materials storage, and administrative offices are located here.
