Inside athletes village
University of Minnesota Athletes Village / MinneapolisMN
What does a University Athletics Department need to build for a student athlete's educational success?

Mortenson was selected by the University of Minnesota to build their landmark Athletes Village Project. The project focuses on student-athlete welfare and development. It includes a Student-Athlete Center for Excellence that will be a flagship facility for the entire Athletics Department, emphasizing academics, leadership development and nutrition. It also includes a men’s and women’s basketball practice facility, an indoor football practice facility, and a football performance center that provides much-needed facilities for the football program.

For the first time, both the men's and women's programs have their own training areas outside of their competition venue, "The Barn", giving each team its own prominence within the basketball community.
