At 300.5 megawatts, the Cedar Creek Wind Farm extends across a challenging 120-square mile site in Colorado.
Mortenson’s scope of work included building 49 miles of access roads; 274 turbine foundations; erection of 221 Mitsubishi 1000A 1-megawatt wind turbines and 53 GE SLE 1.5-megawatt wind turbines on 80-meter towers, installation of 64 miles of 34.5kV underground and overhead electrical collection system, a 34.5kV/230kV substation, an operations and maintenance building and two meteorological towers.
The project was completed on time, on budget, and without a single lost time incident.
