Mortenson Construction was selected to build the Grande Prairie Wind Project, a 400-megawatt wind farm for BHE Renewables. The project site spans 120 square miles and offers favorable winds with its flat terrain.
Consisting of 200-Vestas V100 110 meter rotor wind turbines, Grande Prairie has a total output of 400 megawatts of energy. Our scope of work included access roads, foundations, turbine erection, underground collection system, two substations and transmission line. Mortenson will self-perform all HVT work.
Construction commenced in August of 2015 and was completed in December of 2016.
