Mortenson was selected to build the Slate Creek Wind Project, a 150-megawatt wind farm for EDF Renewable Energy. This is the 26th project constructed for the customer. The project site spans approximately 91 square miles and offers favorable winds with its hilly terrain placement.
Consisting of 75-Vestas 2.0 MW V110 wind turbine generators, Slate Creek has a total output of 150 megawatts of energy. Our scope of work included access roads, foundations, an O&M building, turbine erection and collection. Mortenson also self-performed all civil and HVT work.
Construction started in May of 2015 and completed later that year in November. The site provides clean renewable energy for approximately 45,000 households.
