PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As a Truck Operator, your primary duties include operating trucks as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Operate the following trucks based on the requirements of the project:

  • Hydrovac Truck
  • Water Truck
  • Dump Truck
  • Haul Truck
  • Tractor Trailer/Lowboy
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in the assigned area
  • Perform routine maintenance, including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
  • Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
  • Follow work plans and pre-task cards
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver the steering wheel to operator equipment
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts
  • Knowledge of equipment and their uses
  • Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Equipment certifications as required
  • A minimum of three years of related experience
  • Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
  • DOT
