ENR Midwest ranked Mortenson as the #3 Top Contractor in 2018, up one spot from 2017. Firms were ranked based on last year’s total construction revenue from projects in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
 
Mortenson’s four offices in the Midwest region – located in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Iowa City, and Chicago – put $1.7 billion of construction work into place in 2017. “Mortenson has deep roots in the Midwest and we continue to see this region as a source of tremendous growth and opportunity,” said Dan Johnson, president and chief executive officer at Mortenson.
 
Notable projects include: Mercyhealth Hospital & Trauma Center – Riverside in Rockford, Illinois; Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center, the future home of the Milwaukee Bucks, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Allianz Field, the future home of the Minnesota United FC, in St. Paul, Minnesota; and the Acuity Insurance Corporate Headquarters Expansion in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
