Mortenson’s Solar & Emerging Renewables Group was selected to construct SunEdison’s massive Four Brothers Solar projects: Enterprise, Escalante I, II and III. The projects are situated on relatively flat terrain located throughout Beaver and Iron County, Utah.
The Four Brothers sites are the first set of solar projects built in the state of Utah for Mortenson. Each project will require more than 338,000 modules that cover over 2,300 acres – that’s more than one million modules! Mortenson is self-performing civil, mechanical, electrical and HVT scopes and will be responsible for the roads, pilings, trackers, PV modules, AC/DC wiring, inverters, substations and fencing.
Each project is approximately 110 MWdc and upon completion, when combined, will help power more than 130,000 homes. The projects will employ nearly 1,000 workers throughout the construction duration. The four solar projects began construction in July 2015 and are expected to be completed August 2016.
