To kick off the Building2Learn program at William Horlick's High School Mortenson Senior Superintendent and industry leader Ben Anderson welcomed students to the Productivity Center. Ben shared his experience in the industry and the project facts of the Aurora Medical Center Mount Pleasant he’s currently working on. In addition to learning in the classroom, students will be visiting the project site throughout the Building2Learn program.

During this session, Westphal Electrical team members discussed what it takes to become an electrician and had the student’s wire up their own lightbulbs. After watching an electrician complete the task, the students were given their own electrical components and asked to replicate the task with the final test of whether their light came on! The team then discussed the wide variety of electrical components that will exist in the new medical center and how important electricians are in making sure hospital power is always working for patients.
