This B2L session focused on formwork and its importance in pouring concrete for the foundations of the new medical center. To kick off this topic, Mortenson senior superintendent Ben Anderson walked students through reading foundation drawings.  He focused on the development of the drawings and how review of the plan was essential for success. The students reviewed a column pad plan for the new medical center and discussed what formwork would be necessary.

Mortenson carpenter general foreman Chris Guido visited the students a few days later to lead the students through building the formwork for the foundation pads. Students reviewed the detailed prints to successfully cut and assemble formwork that would be ready for the concrete crews to pour.
