Mortenson was selected to provide program management services to oversee the transformation of the existing Madison Central Public Library into a facility that meets the growing needs of the Madison community. The Library expanded their current facility to create a 21st Century library that features:

  • An all new model urban library
  • Comprehensive offering of educational information and resources
  • Social engagement as a community center, program catalyst, and regional destination
  • Greater access to collections
  • Five times as many computers as the original facility
  • Dedicated spaces and services for teens, children, elderly, small business, and many of Madison’s disadvantaged
  • Diverse and robust programs and services
  • More than 1 million visitors expected in the first year
  • Five times the number of computers available
  • Double the amount of public spaces
  • A new community center for downtown Madison with 20 meeting rooms including a 250-person auditorium and a 75-seat program room
