Last week, Mortenson Portland’s healthcare construction team installed two medical triage tents for a large healthcare provider that will serve as overflow hospital space for the emergency department. The triage tents feature full power, emergency power, as well as negative air pressurization and air filtration. In tandem with the tent erection, the team also converted an existing exterior decontamination shower area into a new portable ex-ray room. As our healthcare system prepares for a possible surge of COVID-19 cases, the tents will prevent cross-contamination between patients and increase space in the emergency department for those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

At Mortenson, our highest priority is the health and safety of our team members, customers, project partners and the communities where we live and work.  As such, the Mortenson team followed the guidance of health experts and maintained physical distancing while constructing the tents, utilizing digital meetings and planning sessions to work with both the client and local jurisdictions.
