Clothing, Confidence & Career Tools

Dress for Success provides women with professional attire to secure employment, but it’s about so much more than a new outfit. Their mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, career attire, and development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. The organization provides private consultation, interview coaching, employment suiting, and technology resources. They also offer career building programs through professional workshops.

Assistant Project Manager Melanie Nordhougen serves as the Silent Auction chairperson for the Dress for Success Red River Valley Attire to Inspire Fashion Show, held in September, and has volunteered with the organization for the past two years. "Being involved with Dress for Success is a meaningful way to serve others” said Melanie. “I value their vision of empowering women to enter the workforce by not only providing apparel but also workplace skills and positive encouragement.”

Melanie has recruited team members Tanya Larson and Janet Seifert as volunteers for the upcoming event. Additionally, she and the local Fargo-Moorhead National Association of Women in Construction chapter recently held a suit drive to benefit Dress for Success. Mortenson team members donated over 100 articles of clothing to the effort. “It is great to see our team join together to help support the local community and this great cause” said Melanie.
