Surgery room at hospital built in Phoenix
Phoenix Children's Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center Renovation  / MesaAZ
How do you build a hospital to have services closer to your patients?

This tenant improvement project was a build-out of the last 5,000 square feet of gray shell space within the operational specialty clinic and urgent care facility. An additional 2,500 square feet was also demolished and renovated from the existing specialty clinic areas. This new ambulatory surgery center includes two operating rooms and one endoscopy room, with all patient care supporting areas necessary for this facility. The supporting areas include pre-op, PACU, nurse station, decontamination, sterilization, scope cleaning, supply, dictation, soiled holding, conference, office, locker rooms, shower, and toilet facilities.

The construction of the space included underground plumbing and electrical services, concrete slab on grade, framing, drywall, flooring, and ceiling treatments. The project scope included the addition of a discharge canopy, new Aaon HEPA rooftop units, extensive medical gas expansion, a new water softening system, a complete exterior repaint, all low voltage systems (security, EMS, phone/ data), and environmental testing during construction.
