Fort Knox Medical Clinic Replacement / Fort KnoxKY
What does it take to deliver a medical facility ahead of schedule?

This project includes the design and construction of a new 150,000 SF medical clinic replacement. The clinic will replace some of the functions of the current, aging Ireland Army Community Hospital, built in the mid-1950s.

The Ireland Army Community Hospital was directed to reduce services to an outpatient clinic, to realign capabilities and health services to meet the demands of Fort Knox and the Army. The new replacement clinic will be smaller in size, complying with the needs of patients and offering a modern facility to the training base. Services offered at the new facility will be physical therapy, primary and specialty care clinics, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and mental health outpatient care. Nearby local hospitals will offer inpatient and emergency treatment.

The main design goals for the clinic include creating a patient and family-centered environment; improving the quality and safety of healthcare delivery; supporting the care of the whole person enhanced by contact with nature and positive distractions; developing a positive work environment; and designing for maximum standardization and future flexibility and growth. The new clinic will provide Fort Knox with a state-of-the-art facility to deliver quality care to its patients.
